I love my Restoration Hardware leather couch so much, that after five years of watching a lot of videos (COVID you know) and reading, my wife yelled at me that I was flattening the cushions in my spot and needed to NOT sit there so much. Like a good husband I listened to her complaint, and determined that her observation was correct but her solution was flawed; and so I figured out a better one: MORE DOWN AND FEATHER STUFFING!Then I secretly ordered 10 lbs of the 90/10 mix and when it arrived, I announced the improved couch cushion fixing plan - It's always easier to get her buy-in after I purchase the materials and announce I will fix it without her help. After watching many cushion restuffing videos, and reading many reviews, I realized that there was no way to avoid stray Feathers during the operation. So, I chose our little used tiled basement bathroom to contain the spillage from getting all over the house. In preparation, I removed all decorations, carpets, and towels, then swept and mopped the floor. All clean for the job.First, I took the padding from the insides of all six cushions and stacked them, and all the leather cushions they came from, outside and next to the bathroom door. I put the bag of Feathers inside, next to the toilet seat on which I sat to do the stuffing, and brought in one padding at a time. After doing one, I realized that the best way of doing it was grabbing a handful of feathers and then thrusting your closed hand down the inside baffles (cloth dividing walls dividing the Feathers into groups) and then open your hand when you had where it was needed. Do fine tuning with an open hand afterwards. Repeat until your Feathers fill up the pads.Let me say this part now. We all know that high quality brands like RH look great, and generally hold up really well. But I was shocked at how little the amount of actual down and feather stuffing surrounded the foam padded interior cores of the cushions. And in using about 5-6 lbs of feathers for the six cushions in my restuffing job, I estimate I doubled the amount of Feathers and down in each cushion. And as post stuffing relaxation shows, I did not overstuff or under stuff the cushions. So I would guess a pound of Feathers for each cushion is a good guide, more if your couch is not high quality. The Feathers and down itself are clean, don't smell, and didn't make me sneeze. Great quality with small quills making for a comfortable cushion. I do have about half the 10 lbs left, but put it in a closet for future restuffing of other furniture as needed.Because I isolated the stuffing operation, clean up was fairly easy. I did buy a new whisk broom and dust pan for clean up, as I didn't want to spoil the Feathers from the floor - and there were certainly a lot. Finally, beware that the upper cushion baffles had to be opened at the seem with a knife and resown afterwards. That was wifey's job because she didn't want me breaking her sowing machine.... a WIN for everyone. So, if considering fluffing up your furniture, these feathers are great. I chose 90 feather/ 10 down mix because my couch is leather and there is no possibility of Feathers poking out. If you have a fine cloth couch you may want to opt for a higher down percentage.
